Have you ever experienced a mirror that not only “sees” how you see yourself, but tells you how others perceive you? May such a smartmirror help not only adapt/improve oneself externally (look) but also internally (mood, emotions)? What are the expectations, fears (privacy)? The acceptance of such a smart thing requires approaches that go beyond technology-driven designs. In this paper …

The materiality of urban spaces has been changing by progress and consequently the way we, as townsmen or visitors, interact in these spaces is changing. For example, within the last decade using a mobile digital bus ticket has become a common practice in many cities around the world. Contemporary progress in mobile augmented reality technologies has already introduced novel pervasive displays, such as Microsoft’s HoloLens, which allows to display mixed realities containing tangible real and “intangible” holographic objects. Now, we seem to be at a crossroads …

Excited about participation in the Co-Design Roundtable at the Human-Centred Cognitive Assistance Lab of the University of Bremen.

Just wondered how we approach environmental psychology, visual perception, and design in terms of everyday behaviors of home inhabitants…

Oh, and the roundtable is just part of a larger international initiative that tries to look beyond what we know about cognition and design (http://hcc.uni-bremen.de/codesign2017/)… Surely of interest for many disciplines…

Today we’re releasing Environs version 0.9.9.3 with some bug fixes.

  • Updated: Debug exception handling
  • Added: Limit Mediator max sendqueue items to 6000
  • Updated: Disposal of DeviceBase.UdpListener
  • Fixed: Crash in native layer due to (race condition in) device management list item access through DeviceBase
  • Added: string class to Tracer for debugging

Have a look at the CHANGELOG.md for an exhaustive list of changes.
